Select the style and color
Think of your floor
as the fifth wall that connects all other design elements in the room.
Consider the walls, window treatments and other furnishings when choosing
a color scheme. Bring fabric and color samples with you.
A room that lacks natural light can be warmed by sunny, bright yellows,
orange and reds. Cool colors such as blues and greens can add a serene
feeling to a bright room. Vibrant lively colors are good for family rooms
or kitchens. More formal rooms are flattered by elegant palettes of
pastel.
